Michael Zimmerman and Evolution Weekend, Feb. 6-12

Dr. Michael Zimmerman, a biologist, is the founder of the Clergy Letter Project and Evolution Weekend.   Over 13 thousand Christian, Jewish, and Unitarian Universalist clergy have signed a letter in support of teaching evolution in public schools.   On the Sunday closest to Darwin’s Birthday (February 12th) faith communities all over the United States celebrate Evolution Weekend by honoring science and religion.

Dr. Zimmerman speaks candidly about the state of science education and the need for scientific literacy.   He writes on the topic of science and religion at the Huffington Post.

  1. Daryl Stephens says:

Thanks for a great program! I enjoyed it very much. It’s a shame that there are sill so many people who set up an artificial conflict between science and religion when they answer different questions, just as, say, art and math look at different things.

  2. Amy says:

Yes, thanks very much I really enjoyed your discussion. I actually called public radio to find out exactly who I was listening to. I missed the introduction. I will continue to tune in.

    Best Wishes
